OTel Collector
The managed collector reports on itself: its internal metrics and its own logs are routed back through its own OTLP receiver into ClickHouse every 30 seconds. Enabling otel_collector turns that stream into a dashboard, without adding any collection of its own — see Monitoring the collector for the mechanism.
What it installs
A dashboard covering per-receiver and per-exporter throughput, refused and failed items, sending-queue saturation, process health, and the collector’s log stream. It’s the first place to look when data seems to be missing elsewhere — a climbing queue or a burst of exporter errors pins down where the pipeline is stuck.
Prerequisites
Only meaningful for a managed collector (collect.collector.binary, the default) — Noemata only wires up this self-monitoring loop for the collector it manages. An external collector (collect.collector.external) can feed the same dashboard, but you’d have to point it at its own OTLP receiver yourself; Noemata doesn’t configure that for you.
Settings
None beyond enabling.
